Summer Reading: Find Your Voice!

Summer Reading 2023: Read, Renew, Repeat!

Registration begins:  and end 7/31.

We have paired up with the BOSTON BRUINS once again to encourage reading throughout the summer! This year children can also earn brag tags on a necklace for reading. Children who register for our summer reading program will receive incentives based on their age or the school year they will be entering in the fall:

  • Children ages 3-8: These children will receive a registration bag with a timed-reading log and Bruins materials. The child should fill in a circle for every 15 minutes of reading (or listening to reading). Once the child has filled in 10 circles, he/she can bring their log to the librarian for a free metal necklace and choice of brag tag. He or she will then receive more tags for each additional 10 circles (for a total of 5 brag tags). Once the child has completed the entire log  (just over 12 hours total of reading), he or she will receive a free book, a Bruins certificate, AND a raffle ticket for a fun prize. Prizes include Funko Pops and Altitude tickets.

  • Children ages 9 through entering fifth grade: These children will also receive a registration bag with a timed-reading log and Bruins materials. The child should fill in a circle for every 15 minutes of reading. Once the child has filled in 10 circles, he/she can bring their log to the librarian for a free metal necklace and choice of brag tag. He or she will then receive more tags for each additional 10 circles (for a total of 5 brag tags). Once the child has completed the 50 circles (just over 12 hours total of reading), he or she will return the log and receive a Bruins certificate and a raffle ticket for a fun, older-aged prize. Prizes include Showcase Cinemas tickets, North Bowl package, An Unlikely Story gift card and tote bag, Treetop Adventure pass, Altitude passes, telescope kit, Minecraft game, and Harry Potter Minalima book.

  • Children entering 6th grade-9th grade: Children entering or continuing in middle school will receive a different log better suited to their age. Upon completion, the child will receive a raffle ticket for the items listed under "Children ages 9 through entering fifth grade" section above.

Our programs this summer will be themed around being creative through art, crafts, journaling, and so much more. Join us throughout the summer for fun activities, STEAM programs, chess, Legos, crafts, TEEN programs, and more! Due to renovations throughout the building, we will have limited programming this summer.
