The Richards Memorial Library Youth Advisory Council (YAC)
October 2021-April 2022 Session
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at the Richards Memorial Library is made up of teens between the ages of 13 and 17 who love to read and share opinions. YAC teens help shape the Young Adult book collection by voting on upcoming book releases, decorating and selecting a monthly book display, and voting on upcoming programs. We end our year with a pizza party!
YAC meets one hour each month from October - April. Members must commit to attending meetings (exceptions are always made for illness or possible exposure), and are asked to make up any missed time.
New this year: YAC members are required to volunteer an additional two hours helping with a library project (such as cleaning discs or looking for damaged books) at a time of their convenience before the session ends in April.
To apply to be a member of YAC, please fill out this form YouthAdvisoryApplication by October 1.
Due to COVID, the group will be limited to 6 participants, and each member will be required to wear a mask.
The meeting dates and times are as follows (Monday nights):
October 18 @ 7 pm
November 15 @ 7 pm
December 13 at 7 pm
January 10 @ 7 pm
February 7 @ 7 pm
March 7 @ 7 pm
April 4 @ 7pm (includes pizza party)
