Websites for Your Enjoyment

Overdrive has audiobooks you can download to your computer and then transfer to your mp3/ipod or cds. Download the overdrive software to play. You can also download ebooks to your eReaders.
Starfall.com Learn To Read with Phonics: some of the activities here are worth checking out. Some of the vowel books don't seem to read the whole word, though.

Kids Infobits is a kid-friendly database for looking things up. Log-in with your library card number, then scroll down to find infoBits. Check out some of the other databases as well.
http://www.asailorslifeforme.org/images/logo_asailorslife.gif Old Ironsides (USS Constitution) features information about the lives of sailors during the early part of America's history.
Wonderopolis' Camp What a Wonder is the National Center for Family Literacy 2012 activity center for children.

The computer in the Children's room is for children 12 years old and under. A child needs to sign up to use the computer in sessions of 30 minutes at a time. There is a limit of 1 hour a day (just as there is for the adults.) As per Facebook policy: You will not use Facebook if you are under 13. You Tube is also not allowed.

If a child needs the computer for homework, that takes precedence over games.
